Missouri Trappers Association
Since its creation the MTA has been dedicated to the preservation of the heritage and skills of trapping, and the conservation and utilization of all natural resources of our state and our nation.
The Missouri Trappers Association was created in 1958. The original meetings consisted of about a dozen trappers that met at a member's house in the spring , swapping stories and passing on tips to improve each other's success. The news of the organization spread by word of mouth and a single advertisement in an outdoors magazine of national circulation. On April 25, 1972 the MTA was incorporated as a not-for-profit corporation under the laws of our State. In March of 1973 the Association affiliated with the Conservation Federation of Missouri, which is an affiliate of the National Wildlife Federation.
